DHI NVR4104-4KS2/L / NVR4104-P-4KS2/L is an economical and universal network recorder that will work in professional video monitoring systems. This Dahua Lite series product is ideal for building simple Ultra HD video security systems and is compatible with four IP cameras. It has an input bitrate of 80Mbps and is capable of recording videos that can be stored on a single hard drive with a maximum capacity of 10TB. In addition, the device offers a number of video management and analytics functions that are usually only available in more advanced recorders, as well as the ability to manage the functions of AI-enabled cameras.
NVR4104-4KS2/L is the latest supervision technology, equipped with a new 4.0 user interface from Security Baseline 2.1. This powerful supervision system supports many video codecs, including H.264, H.265, Smart H.264+ and Smart H.265+, and is able to decode up to 8 x 1080p@30 fps. It also has mainstream cameras ONVIF and RTSP protocols, which gives flexibility in adjusting the supervisory system. H.265+ codec support
H.265+ is a video recording coding system, which is an extension of the technology used in H.265 / HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding). A system based on an intelligent H.265+ compression algorithm created by Dahua can significantly reduce video bitrate. This means a radical reduction in the use of bandwidth, limiting the requirements for data space and improving image quality compared to H.264 - the codec can save up to 90% of the capacity.
Data archiving on the recorder
The device allows you to store recordings from monitoring on one hard disk located inside the recorder. When choosing a disk, make sure that its capacity does not exceed 10tb. Records are also possible using a USB port. It allows you to connect capacious external disk, DVD recorder or miniature flash drive portable memory. An additional form of archiving of recordings is the ability to transfer files from the recorder through the network to a local hard disk in the computer.
Web-based management
The Dahua recorder has been designed so that the configuration and administration of the device is trouble-free, even for novice users. Navigation, a new display and changes in settings meet current expectations and make it possible for both installers and end users to easily adapt the monitoring system to their specific requirements. In addition, since the main menu is based on the Linux operating system, it ensures high stability and reliability of the system.
Support for cameras with AI features
The modern DAHUA 4/L series recorder provides the user with the possibility of trouble -free operation of cameras equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) functions and business analysis functions. Appropriate configuration of the functions from the recorder level results in a constant analysis of the recorded image and allows you to quickly capture undesirable events. The function includes: perimeter protection, face detection, SMD+, counting people and a heat map.
P2P - Direct access to the recorder
The NVR recorder allows you to instantly establish a direct connection to the computer or with a mobile device (iOS or Android). The advantage of this solution is to obtain remote access not only to the device with a public IP address, but also to NVR located in a private network without the need for complex configurations.
Smart Add
Thanks to the Smart Add function, the installation of the IP system is as easy as analogue technology, regardless of whether NVR has a built -in PoE switch or not. The only requirement to remember that the NVR network recorder must be in the same network as the cameras.
Automatic Network Replenishment
This service guarantees the continuity of recordings in the event of a failure, disconnection or loss of the connection between the camera and the recorder. The system works on the principle of automatic detection of a network problem and a safe recording of recordings on the microSD card placed inside the camera. After the failure cessation, the recording is automatically synchronized and in the case of deficiencies the recorder will download the missing fragments directly from the camera.
Digital image enlargement
The function is used with the need to bring a given fragment of the displayed or played recording to obtain a more detailed preview. Through this function, strict supervision over priority areas in a given security zone is possible.
Privacy masks
Privacy zones are free -configurable image areas excluded from monitoring. Thanks to the private mask system, it is possible to record an image with respect for the right to privacy of third parties.
Built-in PoE switch
A feature that this recorder stands out is the use of a switch with PoE technology support. Power Over Ethernet technology allows you to provide power to the camera and allows you to send data packets from monitoring using one cable (standard UTP or FTP pair). This is a very useful and convenient solution that greatly facilitates the installation of cooperating products, reduces assembly time and allows easy synchronization of the entire system.
Video outputs
The recorder is equipped with a video output in the HDMI standard (1.4) with 3840 × 2160 (4K UHD) resolution and VGA analog output with Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080).
USB Ports
The recorder has 2 USB 2.0 ports (on the rear panel). They are used to connect external devices that increase functionality and facilitate daily system operation.
Onvif support

Dahua's SmartPSS (Professional Surveillance System) application is a convenient software designed to work with analog digital recorders, network NVRs, IP megapixel cameras, IP video doorbells, SVR storage devices and other DAHUA devices that have a built-in network interface.
This application can handle up to 1000 connections and allows remote control of the recorder, enabling both real-time monitoring of camera images and modification of setting options.
